All class registration will take place in myGateway. First year and transfer students are required to be advised before registering for their first semester of classes at Tarleton. Most students are required to be advised for each semester, which can happen through drop-in events, appointments, or email. Learn more about advising holds and how to resolve them.

We encourage you to make an appointment if you are unsure of what you should/can register for. Getting advised before each semester will ensure your success and prepare you for timely graduation.

Any questions regarding course restrictions or transfers should be directed to your academic department.

Academic Warning, Probation, and Suspension

The purpose of academic warning, probation, and suspension is to make you aware of the University’s concern that satisfactory progress is not being made in your course of study. The Office of Academic Advising is in a unique position to advise those who have not achieved a minimum 2.0 GPA, and discuss options for improvement.

You will be required to see an advisor before registering for classes if you are placed on academic warning or probation. If you are placed on academic suspension, you will need to speak to the dean of your college. It is always important to keep up with your email, as notices of suspension and suspension hearings are generally communicated in this way.
