ACADEMIC SOFTWARE REQUESTS — JANUARY 31ST EACH YEAR

Faculty need to provide academic software requests to the CLSS Manager or the End User Support Specialist designated to their area by January 31st of each academic year. We need an explanation and justification of the need. If funding is available, or you have identified funding, we will deploy the new software in the following fall semester.

We cannot support trial versions, or partial purchases, for a lab. For example, if you want software for Math 227 which has 32 seats, we need to find funding for 32 seats; we cannot support just five.

If you find open source or freeware software that meets your needs, we will test the software to ensure there are no compatibility issues with existing software or hardware and install that software for you in a classroom or instructional computer lab.

All software (free or purchased) must go through an Accessibility Review and VPAT Assessment as required by the Texas A&M University System before it can be installed.
