Founded in 1942, Alpha Phi Sigma recognizes academic excellence of undergraduate and graduate students of Criminal Justice, as well as Juris Doctor students. The goals of Alpha Phi Sigma are to honor and promote academic excellence, community service, educational leadership, and unity. Alpha Phi Sigma is the only Criminal Justice Honor Society, is a certified member of the Association of College Honor Societies, and is affiliated with the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences (ACJS).

Requirements to Join

To become a member, you must have completed one-third of your total hours require for graduation.

Undergraduate Students

To join you must maintain a minimum of 3.2 GPA in criminal justice courses. You must also rank in the top 35% of your classes and have completed a minimum of four courses within the criminal justice curriculum. The Honor Society is open to those with a declared criminal justice major or minor.

Graduate Students

You will be require to maintain a minimum of a 3.4 GPA in both Criminal Justice courses and overall courses. You must have completed a minimum of four courses within the Criminal Justice curriculum.
