Breastfeeding

The Breastfeeding information page is designed to assist lactating individuals find resources about breastfeeding and lactation spaces on campus. As a part of the Dean of Students Administration Office’s mission to make education more accessible, we have compiled a list of campus buildings which offer spaces for lactating mothers to breastfeed their children or pump.

Campus Resources

  • Purple Pantry: is an on campus resource for all students to utilize. It is open 24/7, year round. We provide a variety of food, hygiene, and school essentials at no additional cost to the student.   • CCAMPIS (Child Care Access Means Parents in School): is a Federal Grant funded by the U.S. Department of Education that offers financial assistance to low-income, undergraduate student-parents in need of affordable, quality childcare services during their pursuit of post-secondary education.   • Children’s Collection: Located on the bottom floor of the Dick Smith Library. Here you have the ability to check out material and allow your child to explore books and other manipulatives while you are studying. Children must be supervised by their parents in this area and cannot be left alone.

The Little Texans is a resource guide for Texan parents with information about local activities for children, information about local medical providers, and suggested questions for childcare providers.  Please note, Tarleton State University does not endorse any medical or childcare provider and recommends that all parents do their own research to determine the best provider for their child(ren).

The U.S. Department of Education’s regulation implementing Title IX specifically prohibits discrimination against a student based on pregnancy, childbirth, false pregnancy, termination of pregnancy, or recovery from any of these conditions. The Title IX regulation also prohibits a school from applying any rule related to a student’s parental, family, or marital status that treats students differently based on their sex.
