Let me take this opportunity to highlight the programs within the Engineering Technology department and point out how we can partner with you on an individual or organizational basis to advance manufacturing in Texas. Our history as part of Tarleton dates back to 1917 when we were a manual training program and throughout the 20th century as the needs of the Texas workforce changed and our programs kept pace. In the age of increasing global competition coupled with complex products and supply chains there is a pressure on manufacturing like never before. The need for employees at all levels of any company who are both technically proficient and have the knowledge and flexibility to perform their job in this complex environment is critical for any organization to remain competitive.

Engineering Technology (ET) is the profession in which knowledge of the applied mathematical and natural sciences gained by higher education, experience, and practice is devoted to the application of engineering principles and the implementation of technological advances for the benefit of humanity. Engineering Technology education for the professional focuses primarily on analyzing, applying, implementing, and improving existing and emerging technologies and is aimed at preparing graduates for the practice of engineering that is close to the product’s improvement, manufacturing, and engineering operational functions.

We have degrees to address people’s needs at all points along their career from traditional bachelor’s degrees in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Technology to fully online degree completion programs built for working adults at the bachelor’s and master’s level.
