How to apply for Your Professional Probationary or Intern Certification

Before Tarleton State University can recommend a student for a probationary certificate, the student must submit all required documents to their program coordinator. Documents include, but are not exclusive to:

  • Letter of Intent to Hire that includes a start date and position title;
  • Teacher Service Record with authorized signature showing required number of years of classroom teaching for issuance of the standard certification; and
  • Proof of enrollment in an internship.

Counselor, Principal, and Superintendent students may apply for either an Intern Certificate or a Probationary Certificate. Educational Diagnosticians may only apply for a Probationary Certificate. The associated TExES exam must be passed before applying for a Probationary Certificate.

  1. Go to the TEA Website and click on “TEAL Login” at the top. Log in and click on “View My Educator Certification Account.”
