Beyond these general requirements for admission to the College of Graduate Studies, departments may set additional standards for admission to degree programs as necessary, subject to administrative approval.
The application process is comprised of several parts:
Online Application
Please review this information before completing the online application.
- Submit your Online Graduate Application
- Pay a $50 non-refundable processing fee
- Submit an essay (600 words or less) addressing your purpose and goals for pursuing a terminal degree
Official Transcripts
Request official academic credentials from each of the colleges and universities you have attended and submit them using one of the following methods.
- Mail sealed, official transcripts to:

- Request that the awarding institution email them to [email protected].
- Drop off your sealed, official transcripts directly to the College of Graduate Studies Office during regular business hours.
Note: If you attended a foreign college or university, you will need to have a course by course transcript evaluation by the Association of International Credential Evaluators, Inc. (AICE) or the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES).
Test Scores
The GRE is optional for admission to the 2024 Ph.D. in Criminal Justice program. The Ed.D. program and the Ph.D. in Animal and Natural Resource Sciences do not require GRE scores.
