Graduate Council

Council Members

One graduate faculty member from each department serves on the Graduate Council. The Graduate Council is chaired by the dean of the College of Graduate Studies. These members serve as an advisory body to the graduate dean. As such, the Graduate Council reviews and evaluates any issue relating specifically to graduate education at the university. Routine considerations of the Graduate Council include the following:

• Graduate curriculum and program requirements
• Admissions policies and processes
• Academic standards
• Grading policies and practices
• Academic advising and orientation

The council may assist the graduate dean in reviewing the content of the graduate college sections in the University Catalog.

One graduate faculty representative from the Faculty Senate may serve as a non-voting member of the council.
