Degree Conferral & Diplomas

End of Term Processing

The Office of the Registrar will notify students via student email when end of term processing is complete. Once end of term processing is complete, students may view their official grades, GPAs, academic standing, and unofficial transcripts through myGateway.

Degree Conferral

Degree conferral will begin the day following end of term processing and typically takes 2-3 weeks to complete. The Office of the Registrar will notify students via student email when their degree is awarded.

Students with questions or concerns regarding their degree requirements should consult their advisor.

The following issues could prohibit degree conferral and ultimately diploma distribution: missing degree requirements, missing grades, failing or incomplete grades, missing documentation (e.g., change of grade forms, course exceptions, degree plans, occupational specialization credit forms, official transcripts, etc.), or holds.

Students needing confirmation of degree conferral, prior to receiving their diploma, should request an official transcript.

Failure to Meet Degree Requirements

An active graduation application will prevent a student from registering for a future term and applying for graduation.

If a student has an active graduation application, but they will not meet all degree requirements for the term in which they applied, they must email [email protected] and request to have their graduation application inactivated.

Once the graduation application is inactivated, the student will be eligible to register and reapply for graduation for the term they will complete all degree requirements.

Diploma Distribution

Diplomas are mailed 8 to 10 weeks following commencement.

Diplomas will be mailed to the “diploma mailing address” provided on the graduation application. Students can “view graduation application” through myGateway. If a student needs to change their diploma mailing address, they must email [email protected].

Students who have outstanding university holds are not eligible to receive their diploma until all holds are resolved. It is the responsibility of the student to contact the Office of the Registrar and request their diploma once holds have been resolved.

Diploma Reprint Order Form

Students must complete the Diploma Reprint Order Form to receive more than one copy of their diploma or replace their original diploma if it is lost or damaged. Diploma reprints are $10 per copy.

Transcripts

For students who meet all degree requirements by the grade submission deadline, final transcripts (including degree posting) will be available approximately two business days after all grades are due for the semester.

Transcript requests will be processed on a first come first serve basis.

Students may request transcripts prior to the end of the semester and select “Hold for Degree Posting” on the request. This will provide the fastest processing.

Students with pending issues after commencement and the grade submission deadline may still submit a transcript request and select “Hold for Degree Posting” to ensure timely processing. Requests will not be processed until all issues have been resolved and the degree has been awarded.
