How to Pack

Move-In day at Tarleton is fast-paced, so it’s important to know how to pack properly to ensure your stuff is quickly placed in the right room.

  • Avoid loose items
  • Carefully pack all items in a secure container (such as boxes, plastic totes or suitcases)
  • Pack tightly to prevent breakage
  • Label every container with your name, residence hall and room number
  • Load as much as possible into one or two vehicles. Trailers and moving vans are highly discouraged.

To maintain an environment that contributes to everyone’s well-being, continuous cleaning and disinfecting is vital. It might be necessary to move or relocate students throughout the year. Please bring only the essentials that can be disinfected and moved easily.

Each person coming to campus must be able to certify their health. Students and their families must:

  • Be fever free
  • Be symptom free (no cough, no loss of taste or smell, no runny nose, no sore throat, no difficulty breathing)
  • Not have been exposed or in close contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case within the last 14 days

If unable to certify your health, please contact Housing to arrange for an alternative move-in time.

Cable and Internet Set-Up

To guarantee you’re connected as soon as you move-in, it’s recommended to set up your account in advance. Keep in mind you will need to provide your own Coaxial cable for cable service and your own Ethernet cable for Internet (if not using Wi-Fi). All cable is in HD. Older Televisions may require a QAM tuner; check your TV prior to arrival.

Outside routers are not allowed.
