STEPHENVILLE, Texas—Today through Saturday, three two-person teams of student anglers representing Tarleton State University’s Bass Club take on Green River Lake in Campbellsville, Ky., in the 2016 Carhartt Bassmaster College Series National Championship presented by Bass Pro Shops.

First- through fourth-place winners will go head-to-head, bracket style, Aug. 4-6 on Kentucky Lake, with the last competitor standing earning a coveted spot in the 2017 GEICO Bassmaster Classic sponsored by GoPro on Texas’ Lake Conroe.

Austyn Fowler, Zach Hurst, Zach Ziober, Dakota Ebare, Stetson Overton and Justin Seeton qualified for this week’s competition during the Carhartt College Wild Card tournament that took place last month on Lake Murray in Oklahoma.

A total of 89 teams from 62 U.S. colleges compete today and Friday, with only the top 12—based on daily weigh-ins—fishing Saturday.

Competitors take off each day at 6:30 a.m. from Green River Marina, and weigh-ins are set for 3:30 p.m. on the Campbellsville University campus. Watch weigh-ins live at www.bassmaster.com.

In addition to Tarleton, other university teams representing the Lone Star State are Texas A&M, Lamar, Dallas Baptist, Texas Tech and Texas State.
