Tarleton, Czech academy sign faculty exchange agreement

STEPHENVILLE, Texas — An international initiative between Tarleton State University and the Police Academy of the Czech Republic in Prague becomes a reality with the signing of  a memorandum of agreement giving both institutions opportunities to implement a faculty exchange program, as well as other reciprocal benefits.

“This new relationship provides for mutually beneficial exchanges and will help us to create more research and training opportunities while ensuring the continued success of international programming with the Czech Republic,” said Dr. Alex Del Carmen, associate dean of  Tarleton’s College of Liberal and Fine Arts and executive director of the School of Criminology, Criminal Justice and Strategic Studies.

The agreement is intended to provide unique learning experiences, enhance academic research opportunities and promote greater cultural understanding between the parties.

The Police Academy of the Czech Republic in Prague was founded in 1992 and provides programs for bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees. Teaching, science and research activities are organized through specialized departments focusing on legal, security and public administration.
