Tarleton hosts ‘Hire Education’ series with guest speaker Brandon Busteed

STEPHENVILLE, Texas — Tarleton State University hosts its first Hire Education Speaker Series beginning on Wednesday, Feb. 13, with guest speaker Brandon Busteed. The Hire Education Speaker Series gives the community, Tarleton faculty, staff, administration and students the opportunity to hear three profound speakers present about multiple topics in higher education and the workforce.

President of Kaplan University Partners and, most recently Global Head of Public Sector at Gallup,Busteed will present “The Coming Disruption in Higher Education from 1:15 to 2:15 p.m. in the Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Center Theater.

This presentation willshowcase the importance of educational experiences on the post-graduation success. Busteed will touch on workforce influences on the education industry, underemployment challenges of new graduates and the importance of career guidance and mentoring from the university.

Following the presentation, Busteed will hold a student session,“How Students Can Capitalize on College for Career,” from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center Theater.

Busteed will highlight the key ingredients of the college experience linked to success in later careers and how students can make the most of these experiences. This session will help students understand the critical factors for career success and how they need to play a role in owning their college experience. It will also provide a new way of thinking about their career paths and the importance of having great managers in their first work experiences.
