STEPHENVILLE, Texas — Grammy-nominated saxophonist Tia Fuller will headline the 60th annual Tarleton Jazz Festival, April 29-30 at the Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Center in Stephenville.

This year’s festival, billed as the biggest ever, features 35 bands and 600 musicians and has been expanded to include high school student performances.

Blending creativity and the performing precision drawn from her academic and stage experience, Fuller is a force in the jazz world. She was selected for the all-female band touring with Grammy winner Beyoncé, and she was the saxophone “voice” of Dorothea Williams in the Disney/Pixar movie Soul.

Fuller will perform at 7 p.m. Friday with the Tarleton jazz faculty and at 7 p.m. Saturday with the Tarleton Jazz Ensemble.

She also will present two clinics, “History of Women in Jazz: From Early 1900’s to Beyoncé” at 3 p.m. Friday and “From Beyoncé and Beyond: Music Business, Performance and Leadership” at 1 p.m. Saturday.
