Guest Recital at Tarleton

STEPHENVILLE, Texas—The lilting tones of mezzo-soprano Dr. Hope Thacker will waft across Tarleton State University’s Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Theater as she presents a guest recital on Monday, Oct. 2.
The presentation begins at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free.
Assistant professor of music and voice at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, Thacker is recipient of several awards and honors from the National Association of Teachers of Singers. She made her Carnegie Hall debut recital in December 2013.
Thacker was one of only 12 teachers invited to participate in the 2014 NATS Intern Workshop. She placed fourth in the NATS-Artist Awards competition in 2012 at the national convention.
“Music is one of few disciplines that can truly touch all people,” Thacker said. “Music allows me to be in constant contact with many wonderful people, helping each of them to learn better ways to use their voices and communicate through music.”
