STEPHENVILLE, Texas—Helpful insights for better living is the theme for “The Scott and Doc Show,” now airing on KLIF 570 AM from 4 to 5 p.m. Sundays.

Featuring Tarleton State University’s Dr. Gary Lacefield and Scott Murray, chairman and CEO of Murray Media, the hour-long program, which kicked off on Feb. 22, makes time for listeners to call in with questions and comments.

The duo base their conversation on Tarleton’s six core values—integrity, leadership, tradition, excellence, civility and service—as avenues for better living.

Topics for upcoming shows include discrimination in housing and employment, elder abuse, domestic violence and fraud that affects families. Discussions on mediation will center on divorce, truancy, real estate and wrongful termination.

“This is a great opportunity to showcase Tarleton and its School of Criminology, Criminal Justice and Strategic Studies,” Lacefield said. “KLIF promotes the show during morning and evening drive times, mentioning Tarleton State University.”

Lacefield joined Tarleton in 2015, after working on financial regulatory related issues in both the federal and private sector for more than 30 years. Through August 2015, he served as an expert in more than 190 cases related to mortgage fraud, banking and finance.

A nationally certified mediator and federally qualified arbitrator, Lacefield has taught mediation and arbitration courses for more than two decades. He has a bachelor’s in applied business administration and a MBA in finance from Dallas Baptist University. Lacefield earned his doctorate in supervision, administration and conflict resolution from Texas A&M University-Commerce.

Murray has spent three decades as a multi-Emmy Award winning TV sports anchor and broadcast journalist, including close to a quarter of a century at NBC/DFW. He was sportscaster of the year 17 times and is recipient of the Silver Circle Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
