STEPHENVILLE, Texas —The first-ever Tarleton Showcase competition, hosted by and featuring university choirs, is set for 7:30 p.m., Monday, March 4, in the theater of the Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Center in Stephenville.
The event is general admission, and tickets are $5.
Judges for the talent show portion of the evening are Col. Kenny Weldon (USAF, Ret.), Commandant of Tarleton’s Corps of Cadets, and Arielle Sword, choral director for Stephenville High School.
Audience members also will help select winners.
In addition to students competing for prizes, the Texan Troubadours will sing “Run to You” by Pentatonix and “City of Stars” from the movie “La La Land;” the Select Women’s Ensemble will sing “Storm Comin’” by The Wailin‘ Jennys; the Texan Gentlemen will sing the Irish folk song “Dulaman,” and perhaps a little doo-wop; and the Chamber Choir rounds out the evening with a selection from the musical “Dear Evan Hanson.”
