Protecting our students, employees, data, systems, and assets against cyber threats is a priority for Tarleton State University. Two-factor authentication is a key component of the plan to secure campus I.T. infrastructure. Two-factor authentication will be required for current faculty, staff and student accounts. Duo Security is the tool selected by the Texas A&M System to support two-factor authentication.

Using Duo to verify your identity using a second factor adds an extra layer of protection to your account. Two-factor authentication mitigates the risk of others from logging into your account, even if they know your password.

Why Do I Need Two-Factor Authentication?

Passwords are increasingly easy to compromise. They can often be stolen, guessed, or hacked. You might not even know that someone is accessing your account.

Two-factor authentication adds a second layer of security, keeping your account secure even if your password is compromised. With Duo Push, you will be alerted right away (on your phone) if someone is trying to log in as you.

Protecting our students, faculty, staff, data, systems, and assets against cyber threats is a priority for Tarleton State University. Two-factor authentication (Duo) is a key component of our plan to secure the campus IT infrastructure while complying with Texas A&M System Regulation 29.01.03.
